Mobile device detection
I'm participating in a project that has a mobile version. There's a lot of good and easy to come by tutorials but XHTML Mobile Profile specification gave me a neat idea; click here to see what I figured out.

Loading content when end of page is reached
Rather long title for an article - yet a very neat idea. Starting from and argument that pagination, in a vast majority of cases, does not carry any information in itself and is an unimaginative work-around for displaying large sets of data. Hmm, why not spare user a click and load additional content when she's near the end of the content - brilliancy that seems so apparent after you know the answer :). Once you get the idea, implementation is a piece of cake.

Natural in design
Half-watched a show about sniper rifles on Discovery today and there was a story about some american painter who looked at the colors of the hides of animals in nature and found that they are naturally camouflaging by making them look 2-D from a distance. Made me think about mocking up natural events to evoke emotions.
For instance, I noticed that people, including myself, react powerfully to motion on web pages. Motion, then, can be used to indicate change on draw attention.
The same could go for imagery and, maybe, colors - colors resembling food could be used to evoke positive emotions.

Site moved to a new engine
I moved the site to the new engine today. Being a rip-off of great ideas behind the Radiant CMS built upon a rip-off of the great ideas behind rails, it does it's job when rails is not available.

Link for page 7 in search engine query results doesn't say anything about the content of the links listed on it - except for the fact that search engine ranked them lower that previous 60 links.
I've first seen it implemented in the Humanized reader and much later in Google Reader
